In a previous blog post I gave a link to a Discovery News article stating that the group of archaeologists using underwater robots to search for Earhart’s aircraft were close to giving up their search. This was mainly due to the rough environment in which they had to work. Today, however, another article appeared which states that, after analysing the data gathered by the ROVs, the archaeologists believe to have found parts of the aircraft on the surface of the sea. Further research still needs to be done in order to determine whether the discovered debris is in fact from Earhart’s aircraft but there is at least some motivation for archaeologists to continue their search.
